What are the different Tariffs?
Tariff 31 (T31)
- Electricity Supply is made available for a minimum of 8 hours per day, generally between the hours of 10pm and 7am.
- This tariff is up to 60% cheaper than the standard domestic rate

The most suitable items are Electric Hot Water Systems (to T31) and Pool Pumps (to T33) But you can ultimately connect nearly any appliance. Think Clothes Dryers, Washing Machines and even Dishwashers
Are there any special conditions?
Yes. In order for any item to be connected to an Off Peak Tariff, it must have its own designated electrical circuit.
How do I find out if I am already connected to an Off Peak Tariff?
Check the back of your electricity bill. The standard domestic rate is known as Tariff 11 (T11). If you are already connected to an Off Peak Tariff, you will see information relating to T31 or T33 also.
Who completes this work?
You need to employ the services of a licensed electrician. They will run a designated electrical circuit (if required) and pre-wire your item in preparation for Energex, who will then come to your home and complete the connection.
How much can I expect to save off of my Electricity Bill?
By switching your Electric Hot Water Service over to an Off Peak Tariff, the average Australian household can expect to save up to $200 per year.
Connect your Pool Pump as well and enjoy even further savings of up to $180 per year.
